Before any coating is applied, each product is hand cleaned and chemically washed to ensure the surface is free of contaminants and ready for a flawless finish.
For any pieces where standard cleaning is not adequateto ensure a prepared surface for optimal coating, we will sandblast the product to remove anything that might interfere with adherence such as rust or oil.
After cleaning, all pieces go into an oven for pre-baking. This process eliminates out-gassing and bakes out any remaining oils or water left in the metal.
Powder coating works by electrostatically charging a finely ground powder and spraying it onto metal surfaces. The opposing charges cause the powder to bond to the metal, holding it in place until it's baked into a hard, durable finish.
The pieces are placed in our industrial ovens to cure at a precise temperature and duration for optimal results. The powder is melted and cured into a durable, smooth, and, protective layer.
CW Elaborations rigorously inspects the product following curing to guarantee the finished product meets our expectations and exceeds yours. We inspect powder adhesion, thickness, and visual appearance. When issues are discovered, we remedy it immediately.

We are proud to house the largest powder coating ovens in the Rocky Mountain area. CW Elaborations has two 10' high, 12' wide, and 30' long ovens to ensure we can take on any project you have, no matter how big.
CW Elaborations employs a state of the art Midwest Finishing Systems automated line for powder coating that can house a maximum of 72"L x 36"W x 48"H part profiles, ensuring consistent quality and efficient processing.
